Marouane Fellaini: Manchester United agree to sell Belgium midfielder to Chinese Super League side Shandong Luneng
Marouane Fellaini is set to seal a move away from Manchester United as the Old Trafford club have agreed to sell him to Shandong Luneng.It is understood an agreement has been reached for the transfer of Fellaini, the Belgium midfielder, to the Chinese Super League club pending the acceptance of personal terms.He has passed a medical andlooked set to travel to China on Thursday morning, with a photo shared on Instagram showing himself at an airport alongside the phrase: ‘Let’s go’.1

The move does not have to be completed before Thursday’s 11pm deadline as the Chinese Super League’s transfer window remains open until the end of February.Fellaini is set to leave Old Trafford five-and-a-half years after joining Manchester United from Everton, having penned permanent terms with the Red Devils to follower manager David Moyes from Goodison Park. He has been a divisive figure during his time with United, often being criticised by fans but continuing to hold the trust of his managers; Jose Mourinho was especially keen on the towering Belgian.However, injury has restricted him to just one appearance under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and Fellaini looks set to depart United having played 177 times for the club.He chipped in with 22 goals and 12 assists during that time, and leaves Old Trafford having won the FA Cup, the Carabao Cup and the Europa League.Fellaini will become the second Belgian midfielder to leave the Premier League for China throughout the winter window, following Mousa Dembele who joinedGuangzhou R&F from Tottenham earlier this month.
