David Ginola says Tottenham can now be considered one of the world’s great clubs.The north Londoners followed Liverpool’s lead as they pulled off a stunning comeback in their Champions League semi-final against Ajax, to progress to the Madrid showpiece on June 1.It is the first time Spurs have ever reached the final of the European Cup and Ginola says his old club can now be regarded among the elite.He told the Sports Breakfast: “When you look at the players celebrating with Mauricio Pochettino and the fans at the end of the game, you realise how important it was.2

They have got a great training centre, they have a great stadium and now they have a great team.“The combination of Daniel Levy [the chairman], the club itself, Pochettino, the players makes Spurs what they are now on the planet of football – one of the greatest clubs around.”Tottenham looked to be dead and buried against Ajax at half-time as they trailed 2-0 on the night and 3-0 on aggregate.
